With profound sadness, the family of Vilcius Gerardin announces his passing on October 24, 2025, in Medford, Massachusetts, at the age of 82. Born on September 15, 1943, in Aquin, Haiti, Vilcius was a devoted man of faith, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was marked by kindness, humility, and service to others.
Vilcius was a man who loved God deeply and prayed without ceasing. His quiet strength and steadfast faith were the foundation of his life and the legacy he leaves behind. He lived to help others, always ready to lend a hand, share a word of encouragement, or give from the little he had. His generosity and compassion touched countless lives.
He cherished his family above all else. He leaves behind his beloved children Claudia Gerardin, Pierlyne Gerardin Armand, Dumarssais Gerardin, and David Gerardin; and his cherished grandchildren Neyssa Gerardin, Dumarssais Gerardin Jr., Rholls Gerardin, Kaedyn Armand, Nahia Armand, Daniel Larsen Gerard, Dana Gerardin, and Andy Gerardin.
He is also survived by his loving younger sister and brother, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Vilcius was known for his gentle spirit, respectful nature, and love of soccer. Above all, he will be remembered for his kindness, his patience, and his heart for helping others.
His funeral service will be held at the Missionary Church of the Haitian Community, 100 Temple Street, Somerville, MA on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10:00am. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00am-10:00am prior to the service.
Interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Rd., Medford, MA.
Following the burial, family and friends are invited to return to the church for a reception.
