Obituary

Robert E. Metropolis passed away on February 9, 2016. He was 70 years old.

Robert was a lifelong resident of Malden. He graduated from Northeastern University, and worked for the Boston and Maine Railroad and then for the United States Postal Service. Robert was in the United States Army National Guard. He loved to travel to Europe and visit World War II sites.

Robert was the beloved son of the late Richard and Eleanor (Giberti) Metropolis. He was the loving brother of Richard Metropolis Jr. and his wife Patricia of Florida and Diana Menezes and her husband William of Danvers. Robert was the dear uncle of Richard Metropolis III and his wife Jennifer, Lisa Metropolis, David Menezes, Lauren Scamporino and her husband Matthew, and Brian Menezes.

A service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday February 16th at 11:00a.m. A visitation period will be held from 9:30a.m.-11:00a.m. prior to the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
