Obituary

Richard J. Wakely of Saugus, passed away on November 6, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 72 years old.

Richard was a United States Marine Veteran during the Vietnam War and a longtime union roofer for Local 33.

Richard was the beloved husband of Eileen Carney. He was the son of the late James and Jewel (Herring) Wakely. Richard was the loving father of Richard Carney and his wife Summer of Saugus and the late Timothy Carney. He was the cherished grandfather of Daniel Carney and his mother Deanna DeMayo and the late Ava Carney.

Visitation will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday November 11th from 2-4pm. A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, 164 Winter Street, Saugus on Friday November 12th at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
