Obituary

Prudence E. "Betty" McCormick passed away on March 4, 2009 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was 88 years old.

Born in Somerville, Betty was raised in Cambridge where she graduated from the Latin School. She was a long-time resident of Malden, except for a period of years spent in Montreal and Quebec, Canada. She was well known among her many relatives, friends and acquaintances for her frequent generosity, and her lifelong commitment to many charitable causes, particularly animal welfare.

Betty was the beloved wife of the late Gerald A. McCormick. She was the dear sister of Julia Rizzo and the sister in-law of Marie Crawford. Betty was the aunt of Marcia Fallon, Marilyn Dupont, Ronald Rizzo and Stephen, Kevin and brother Paul Crawford. She is also survived by many other relatives.

Visiting hours will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Saturday, March 14th from 2-4 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
