Obituary

Paul E. "Chubby" Sampson Jr. passed away on March 30, 2017. He was 73 years old.

Born in Melrose, Paul was a resident of Everett, Malden and Chelsea. He graduated from Everett High School where he played basketball and ran track. Paul was a longtime employee of Verizon and union member of IBEW 2222, and a former employee of General Electric. He was an avid conga player and loved 70's soul music and fixing cars. He was also a mentor for students at Madison Park High School.

Paul is survived by his three children; Paul Sampson III and his wife Suzy of Lynnfield, Sharon DiRusso and her husband Frank of California and Arlene Carter of Brockton. He was the dear brother of Albert Sampson and Diane Sampson-Williamson. Paul was the cherished grandfather of five grand-children; Parker E. Sampson, Rachel Ann DiRusso, Asia Carter, Elijah Carter and Jeremiah Minus. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday, April 11th at 12 noon. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm prior to the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
