Obituary

Michael J. Mendez (33 years old) passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday June 25, 2022.

Born in Cambridge, Michael was raised in Malden. He attended Malden Public Schools and worked for P&R Landscaping in Revere. Michael had a great love for his wife, children, sneakers, music and Harry Potter. He was also an avid athlete playing mostly baseball and softball.

Michael was the beloved husband of Amber (LaChappelle) Mendez of Haverhill, MA and the son of Nancy Marie Mendez of Malden. He was the loving father of Dezorae and Matthew Mendez and Teagan-Marie Lachappelle. Michael was the dear brother of Cora Kudla and her husband Jimmy, the grandson of Olivia Mendez of Malden and the great-nephew of Rosie Mendez. He was the uncle of Amelia, JJ and Dominic Kudla and is also survived by several loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday, June 30th from 4-7pm. A service will be held at 7pm immediately following visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
