Obituary

Mary O. (Preziosi) Serra passed away on January 17, 2013 at the Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wakefield. She was 101 years old.

Mary grew up in East Boston and was a longtime resident of Medford for over 60 years. She was a member of the Saint Francis Sodality and longtime parishioner of Saint Francis Church in Medford.

Mary was the devoted wife of 66 years to the late Joseph P. Serra Sr. She was the beloved mother of Joseph P. Serra Jr. and his wife Loretta of Bedford. Mary was the dear sister of Anthony Preziosi and the late John, Americo, Andrew and Alphoso Preziosi. She was the cherished grandmother of Dianne McGaunn of Topsfield, Roberta Serra of MN and Michael Serra of Leominster and the great-grandmother of Mahayla Serra and Joseph and Matthew McGaunn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, January 23rd at 11:00 a.m. A visiting hour will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
