Obituary

Louis A. Botelho, a man whose smile was as big as his heart and whose zest for life was unmatched, passed away on April 22, 2026 at 62 years old, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Somerville on September 14, 1963, Louie was the devoted son of Alda Botelho and the late Arthur C. Botelho. He was raised in the tight-knit neighborhoods of East Cambridge before moving to Malden, where he became a proud graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1982.

For nearly 30 years, Louie was a cornerstone of the Malden business community as the owner and operator of LB’s Auto Body Plus on Eastern Ave. He took immense pride in his craft and was known throughout the city for his signature catchphrase: “If you want your car to look like new, come see Lou.”

To know Louie was to know a man who lived life to the fullest and was truly the life of the party. His happiest moments were spent aboard his boat, the “Never Enough,” blasting Barry White’s greatest hits and casting a line into the open water. Fishing was more than a hobby; it was a bond he shared with his late father and favorite fishing buddy, Arthur. When he wasn’t on the water, Louie could often be found at the casino, a place he enjoyed visiting nearly every day.

While friends affectionately called him “Lovie,” his most cherished roles were as a brother, son, and the legendary “Uncle Lukie.” He was a caring son, loyal brother, and devoted uncle who lived for his family. He is survived by his mother, Alda Botelho of Malden; his brother, Joseph M. Botelho and his wife Paula of Tewksbury; and his sister, Fatima Martino and her husband Joseph of Salem, NH.

His legacy lives on through his nieces and nephews, Ryan Botelho and his wife Amanda, Erica Botelho and her fiancé Olivia Fucci, Jacob Martino and his wife Ashley, Alexis Martino, and Jared Martino. He was also the adored great-uncle to Giuliana, Ava, Ella, Lorenzo, and Luca, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Louie’s signature smile and the soulful soundtrack of his life will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at the A.J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM. A Mass Of Christian Burial celebrating Louie's life will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
