Obituary

Leta M. (Amicone) Magarian passed away on June 20, 2011. She was 92 years old.

Born in Malden, Leta was a lifelong resident. She worked as a seamstress in Boston and then for Sears and Roebuck Co. in sales where she worked for over 20 years.

Leta was the devoted wife of 58 years to the late James Magarian. She was the beloved mother of Barbara Rafferty and her husband William of Portsmouth, RI and James D. Magarian and his wife Ann of Peabody. Leta was the dear sister of Joseph "Sonny" Amicone and the late Emma Chiulli and Mildred Amicone. She was the cherished grandmother of Sharon Rafferty, Michael Rafferty and his wife Allison and Dennis and Laura Magarian. Leta is also survived by her great-grandchild Emma Rafferty and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday, June 24th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday, June 23rd from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Leta's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
