Obituary

Lena (Simonelli) Ciulla passed away on January 11, 2009. She was 84 years old.

Born in Italy, Lena was a longtime resident of Malden before moving to Melrose where she has lived for over 20 years. Lena was a former employee of Converse Rubber and Berkshire Apparel.

Lena was the devoted wife of the late Salvatore Ciulla. She was the beloved mother of Sandy Nesbitt and her husband Sam of Wakefield, Sharon Ciriello of Wakefield, Richard Ciulla and his wife Cathie of Malden, Stephanie Barry and her husband Michael of Wakefield and Salvatore Ciulla and his wife Young of Phoenix, AZ. Lena was the dear sister of Sylvia Colangeli and Salvatore Simonelli and the cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, January 14th at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 13th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
