Obituary

John A. Stathos passed away on July 22, 2010. He was 79 years old.

Born in Malden, John was a lifelong resident of the city. He owned Jasco Contracting Company where he worked as a self-employed general contractor for 50 years and was a member of the Everett Elks Club.

John was the devoted husband of Barbara (Fratus) Stathos, his wife of 15 years. He was the beloved father of Donna Zagami and her husband Joseph of Maine, Dianne Ferri and her husband Kevin of New Hampshire and John Stathos Jr. and his wife Jannine of Melrose. John was the step-father of Theresa and Robert Wright of Florida, Barbara Jean Sargent of Texas and Steven Yasonis of Everett. He was the dear brother of Angelo, Anthony, Paul, Robert and Dennis Stathos and Elaine Zani. John was the cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Joseph, Kevin, Matthew, Cameron, Natalya, Gregory, Chloe and Aaron. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at the Forestdale Community Church, 235 Forest Street, Malden on Friday, July 30th at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday, July 29th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
