Obituary

Janice E. (Papa) Nathanson passed away on October 12, 2012. She was 68 years old.

Born and raised in Boston's North End, Janice was a longtime resident of Malden. She worked at a law firm as a legal secretary for many years.

Janice was the devoted wife of Martin Nathanson. She was the daughter of Elena (Fasano) Papa and her late husband Angelo. Janice was the beloved mother of Corinne Sforza of Malden and her late husband Michael, Janice Papa of Newburyport, and Marie-Elena Withrow and her husband Gary of Florida. She was the stepmother of Ruth Greene and her husband Brian and David Nathanson and his wife Anne all of Virginia. Janice was the dear sister of David Papa of Florida and the late Angelo Jr., Johanne Doherty and Patrick Papa. She was the cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday, October 16th at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leonard Church, Hanover Street, Boston at 9:45 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday, October 15th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
