Obituary

George C. Mercurio passed away on May 27, 2009. He was 78 years old.

Born and raised in Malden, George was a lifelong resident of the city. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he had worked for many years.

George was the devoted husband of Noreen (Kendall) Mercurio. He was the beloved father of George Mercurio Jr. and his wife Valerie of Florida and Sandra Smith of Florida. George was the dear brother of Edgar Mercurio Jr., Delores Gordon, Ronald Mercurio, Theresa Kloppenburg, Arthur Mercurio and the late Alexander Mercurio and the cherished grandfather of 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Saturday, May 30th from 4-6 p.m. A service will be held at 5:30 p.m. during the visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
