Frederick “Fred” Bemis of Malden passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by love.

Fred was a strong, devoted, and hardworking husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first. He worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for those he loved and was known for his unwavering dedication, quiet strength, and generous heart. In his younger years, Fred proudly served in the Army National Guard.

Fred was the husband of the late Rachelle (Teta) Bemis. He was the son of the late Robert and Ethel (Smith) Bemis. Fred was the loving father of Sandra Greige-DiPerri and her husband Charles DiPerri, and the late William Bemis. He was the brother of the late Robert, Richard and David Bemis. Fred was the brother in-law to Christine Capillo. He was the cherished grandfather of Zeina, Leila, Zaki and Jenna Greige and Mia DiPerri. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Fred’s passing leaves a space in our hearts that can never truly be filled. He will be deeply missed for his warmth, sense of humor, and the jokes that so often brought smiles and laughter to those around him. While his loss is profound, we find comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved late wife, Rachelle, and his late son, Billy, and that he is finally at peace.

Funeral service will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday June 1st at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday May 31st from 2:00pm-6:00pm.

Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
