Obituary

Francis S. "Ricky" Ricardo passed away on July 4, 2007. He was 79 years old.

Born and raised in Cambridge, Francis resided there for 75 years and lived in Melrose for the past 4 years. He was a former member of the Lusitania Club of Cambridge Soccer Team and a former employee of Cambridge Electric Light Company (now Nstar) for many years. He was also a former boxer known as Frank the "Ripper" when he was younger.

Francis was the devoted husband of Anna (Saladino) for 56 years. He was the beloved father of Michael Ricardo and his wife Katherine of Georgia, Frank Ricardo and his wife Heather of Maine and Cambridge, Julia Medeiros of Quincy and Angela Foti and her husband Anthony of Melrose. Francis was the dear brother of Lorraine Perriera, Delores Flynn, John Ricardo, William Ricardo and the late Manuel Ricardo and Thelma Ricardo and the cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visiting hours will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday, July 9th from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert Street, Melrose at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
