Obituary

Francis X. O'Malley passed away on August 7, 2009. He was 80 years old.

Born in Boston, Francis grew up in Charlestown and was a longtime resident of Malden. He worked for Boston and Main Railroad for 30 years and was a custodian at the East Boston Police Department. Francis served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was also a member of the Italian American Citizens Club.

Francis was the devoted husband of Connie (DiGiantommaso) O'Malley, his wife of 55 years. He was the beloved father of Donna Chandler and her husband Glenn of Medford and the dear brother of the late Mae DiMinico and Thomas and John O'Malley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, August 12th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in The Church of the Sacred Hearts, 297 Main Street, Malden at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 11th from 4-8 p.m. Interment Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Francis' memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
