Obituary

Emelia "Millie" (Castrini) Fontana passed away on August 24, 2014. She was 90 years old.

Millie was raised in East Boston and was a longtime resident of Malden and Somerville. She was a longtime employee of Tufts University.

Mille was the devoted wife of the late Carl Fontana. She was the daughter of the late William and Josephine (Sprizza) Castrini. Millie was the beloved mother of Carl P. Fontana and his wife Karen of Melrose, Mark W. Fontana of Somerville and Nancy DiGiuseppe and her husband Edward of Somerville. She was the sister of the late William Castrini Jr., Silvia Lavargna, Mary Gliona, Jennie Carneau, Gloria Castrini, and Margaret Vozzella. Millie was the cherished grandmother of Tina Roya, Carla Barry, and Daniel Fontana. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday August 27th at 10:30a.m. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00a.m.-10:30a.m. prior to the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers donations in Millie's memory may be made to A Charity of One's Choice.
