Obituary

Edgar "Junior" Mercurio Jr. passed away on April 13, 2010. He was 77 years old.

Born in East Boston, Edgar grew up in Malden and was a longtime resident of Melrose. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.

Edgar was the loving husband of Connie (Spadafora) Mercurio, his wife of 54 years. He was the beloved father of Debra Giannetta and her husband Gerald of Malden, Cheryl Norton of Melrose and Glenn Mercurio and his wife Lisa of Lynn. Edgar was the dear brother of Delores Gordon, Ronald Mercurio, Theresa Kloppenburg, Arthur Mercurio and the late Alexander and George Mercurio. He was the cherished grandfather of Christine, Danny, Joshua, Michael, Robert and Keith and the great-grandfather of Aleksey. Edgar is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday, April 16th at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday, April 15th from 4-8 p.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Edgar's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
