Obituary

Dominic Settemio passed away on January 5, 2008. He was 75 years old.

The son of Italian immigrants, Dominic was born and raised in the Edgeworth neighborhood of Malden where he made his home with Beverly (Newcomb) Settemio, his devoted wife of 51 years. Following his service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he worked for Converse Rubber for 17 years, as a machinist for Walbar Machine Company for many years and for the City of Malden. Dominic loved spending time with his family and friends and was a proud member of the Italian American Citizens Club of Malden and the Malden ITAMS Post 16.

Dominic was the loving father of William Settemio and his wife Michele of Malden and Dominic Settemio Jr. of Malden and his fiance Michelle Coco of East Boston. He was the dear brother of Anna Miller of Malden, Joseph "Tiger" Settemio of Malden, Louise Walters of Florida and the late Alfred Ciardi, Phyllis Rufo, Celia Picardi and Marie DeGloria. Dominic was the cherished grandfather of John, Michael and Nicholas Settemio and Amanda and Jaclyn Spayne. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, January 9th at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday, January 8th from 4-8 p.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dominic's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
