Daniel “Danny” Harrington, 72, passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2026, leaving behind a life filled with passion, adventure, and love. Danny, the sixth of eleven children, was born on November 22, 1953, in Somerville, Massachusetts, to the late Richard L. and Eileen M. Harrington.

Danny lived each day to the fullest. An avid outdoorsman, Danny found joy in going on walks with his wife, fishing, exploring the beauty of nature, and relaxing beachside. Above all, Danny cherished his role as a father to Dan Harrington and his wife, Amy, of Melrose; Laura Eskholme and her husband, John, of Medford; Beth and her partner, John Latta, of Arlington; and Matthew and his wife, Jennifer, of Malden. He was also a stepfather to Jackey Devine and Stephanie West and a proud grandfather to Drew, Dylan, Molly, Abigail, Nathan, and Mia. He was the beloved husband of Lori. Danny is survived by his siblings: Richard, Joanne, John, Mary, David, Eileen, Peter, Christopher, and Patrice, and was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy.

He dedicated more than 50 years of loyal service to Stop & Shop, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic, reliability, and pride. Danny’s adventurous spirit and boundless enthusiasm will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Funeral from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday May 1st at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Danny's life at the Immaculate Conception Parish, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation with family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday April 30th from 5:00-8:00pm. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
