Christopher Paul Reed passed away on August 20, 2026, after a brief illness.
Born on March 25, 1953, in Malden, Massachusetts, Chris graduated from Medford Highschool and then went to East Coast Aero Tech. After that he worked at Transworld Services in Melrose for 45 years.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Chris was a dedicated family man. He loved his family and was so proud of them.
He found joy in the simple things that made life special. He had a deep love of music and enjoyed starting his mornings playing video poker with his wife and getting a phone call from his daughter. He appreciated an occasional Bloody Mary, especially when it was enjoyed in good company, and loved gathering with his family around the barbecue. He liked teaming up with his son-in-law to cook family meals. He had a particular fondness for Yankee Candles and was always interested in the latest technology. He treasured the time spent playing chess with his granddaughter, and he took great pride in his cooking—especially his amazing baked beans, which were a favorite of everyone who had the pleasure of tasting them. Above all, he loved spending time with the people he cared about and creating the everyday moments and memories that his family will carry with them forever.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Reed of Malden, Massachusetts; daughter Natalie Cardinale and her husband, Tony Cardinale of Salem, NH; Grandfather of his beloved Cora “pipsqueak” Cardinale of Salem, NH; brother of David Reed and his wife Barbara Reed of Spring Grove, PA and Kenneth Reed of Malden, MA. Chris was predeceased by his beloved parents, Edward and Jean Reed.
Chris will be remembered for his big heart and incredible sense of humor.
His legacy of love and compassion will not be forgotten.
A time of visitation for Chris will be held at A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday August 27th from 10:00am-12:00pm followed by a prayer service at 12:00pm. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
