Obituary

Catherine E. Gangemi passed away on April 25, 2016. She was 91 years old.

Catherine was a lifelong resident of Malden. She worked at Mass Electric for 49 years as an executive secretary and was a longtime parishioner at Sacred Hearts Church in Malden. Catherine was an active member at the Malden Senior Center and a volunteer at the VA Hospital. She also taught line dancing at the Malden, Everett, Medford, and Chelsea Senior Centers.

Catherine was the daughter of the late Frank and Albina (Vuolo) Gangemi. She was the loving sister of Peter Gangemi and his wife Elfriede of Malden, Frank Gangemi of Malden and the late Anthony and Steven Gangemi and Grace Winslow. Catherine was the cherished aunt of Steven Gangemi, Anthony Gangemi and his wife Nancy, Cathy Foley and her husband John, Sandy Taglieri and her husband John, Maria Tamagna and John Winslow. She is also survived by many great nieces and great nephews.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday April 28th at 9:00a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church 297 Main Street, Malden at 10:00a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday April 27th from 3-7p.m.

Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
