Obituary

Carmela "Lee" (Cila) Russo passed away peacefully on December 3, 2017. She was 91 years old.

Carmela was a lifelong resident of Malden. She was a longtime parishioner of Saint Peter's Church in Malden and an active member of Saint Peter's ladies sodality. Carmela was a sample maker in the garment district in Boston for many years, and in her later years she voluntered at Malden City Hall.

Carmela was the beloved wife of the late Frank P. Russo. She was the loving mother of Leslie Russo-Murphy of Nashua, NH. Carmela was the dear sister of Vincent Cila and his wife Annette and the late Lucy Papa and her surviving husband Anthony. She was the cherished grandmother of Ricky S. Lauria and his wife Rebecca of Lowell, Vincent F. Lauria of Hong Kong, and Christopher V. Lauria of SC and great grandmother of Anna and Jordan Lauria.

A funeral service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday December 14th at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A visiting hour will be held from 9:30am-10:30am prior to the service. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
