Obituary

Barbara A. (Gill) McGovern passed away on January 3, 2021. She was 86 years old.

Barbara was a longtime resident of Malden and Medford and worked as a legal secretary at Parker, Coulter, Daley and White Law Firm for many years.

Barbara was the wife of the late Frederick J. McGovern Jr. She was the loving mother of Frederick J. "Rick" McGovern III and his wife Denise of Medford. Barbara was the sister of Peggy LaFave and the late James and Robert Gill. She was the cherished grandmother of Eric and Ami McGovern and Courtney Almeida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Barbara's life will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden on Friday January 8th at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday from 9:00am-11:00am prior to the Mass. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
